INTRODUCTION
|
This course provides Project Leaders/Managers a practical methodology of devising a realistic project plan for a success project execution and management. Project Leaders/Managers will learn how to properly plan and later schedule a project through a combination of short lectures and hands-on group activities; where the learned concepts are being applied onto real-life company specific projects. This helps to further emphasize the understanding and use of different project tools, methodologies and techniques. The acquired insight knowledge will better equip the Project Leaders/Managers in understanding the project details and hence lead a successful project. |

SPEAKER’S PROFILE
|
|
|
Dr LIM HUN CHIANG was with Motorola Penang for almost 15 years and held a Senior Program Manager (PM) position in the R&D (Research and Development) Department. He headed the Asia-Pac Program Management Office (PMO), managing a group of 20 PMs across 2 Motorola Business Sectors, covering 5 Business groups on digital/analog 2-way radio and accessory product development projects. He represents the Asia-Pac region, participates in the global PM team on common PM processes, practices and tools implementation and improvement. He established program management methodology for timely projects executions and risk managements with planned introduction of tools and process. His experience covers more than product development; he has spent 6 years in the Manufacturing environment under the Advanced Manufacturing Technology (AMT) Department in Motorola Penang. He has worked on process improvement and line/machine optimization, using statistical tools coupled with manufacturing software.

Dr Lim graduated with a doctorate and a double Masters degree in Operations Research and Computer Science from Florida Institute of Technology. He obtained his Bachelor Degree from Coe College, Iowa, in 1987 majoring in Computer Science, Mathematics and Physics. While in his basic degree, he has been offered to do tutoring; and then as a Teaching Assistant (TA) conducting lectures to the undergraduate students in Florida Institute of Technology.

He is a certified Program Management trainer/consultant and has a Professional Master of Certificate in Project Management from the George Washington University. He has conducted numerous courses in this area to
Motorola personnel (engineering and non-engineering) in Singapore, China and Malaysia. He has also conducted external trainings/seminars in this area to engineers from Altera, Penang and Sr Executives from different fields
(Hotel, Construction, Automotive, etc) in the Philippines.
He has been engaged in providing Project Management Consultancy to Celcom, Malaysia and established PM Methodology and Process specifically to Celcom. He has provided training to over 150 Celcom management
personnel.
He has also conducted external lectures on MBA for Dunville Training Center and Diploma in Manufacturing Management for Strategic Business School and Malaysian Institute of Management, Penang. He is also a certified
Team Building Facilitator for Motorola Penang, Penang Skills Development Center and IPC. He was a part-time instructor conducting lectures in Manufacturing Management for Motorola personnel, a BSc Degree jointly offered
by Motorola University and the then Asia Pacific International University (APIU), New Zealand, and as such has been affiliated to APIU as a Fellow in Computer Science. He was further invited to New Zealand by APIU to
conduct 2-day seminars in Information System for its MBA students.
The industrial exposures coupled with vast training experience have positioned him as a highly qualified trainer / consultant to share his technical “know how”. |
